The “proximity” distance for mySOS angels is set at 3km around the victim in the beta version (this distance will be reduced once the angels’ network have gained enough density).
Geo-localization of mySOS angels : a geo-localization “peack” is sent every 5 minutes to allow for up-to-date network mapping (while avoiding the excessive battery consumption currently induced by continuous geo-localisation).
mySOS alerts only work if the smartphone is connected to the Internet (implying a GPRS/EDGE/3G/4G or Wi-Fi signal).
mySOS alerts will geo-localize the victim only if the geo-localization option is activated on the smartphone. Similarly, a mySOS angel can only be geo-localized if this option is activated on his/her device.
